Can Clean Bandit stay at the top of the charts for the 9th week in a row?!
Clean Bandit has started their year sitting comfortably at number one for 8 weeks.
After getting to number one with their song ‘Rockabye’ back in mid-November, they are the second longest chart topper of 2016, just after Drake who stayed at number one for 15 weeks.
In the week running up to the Christmas Number One reveal, Clean Bandit had 44,000 downloads and a staggering 3.4million streams, which defiantly had an impact on the band retaining their place at number one.
Clean Bandit are an electronic band formed of three members, Jack Patterson who plays the saxophone and bass, drummer Luke Patterson and Grace Chatto on the Violin. The band was formed in 2009 while Jack, and Grace were studying at Cambridge University. Since then, the band have worked with musicians such as Jess Glynne, Sam Smith, and Sean Paul, to name only a few.
Clean Bandit have been battling with BRITS Critics Choice Award Winner, Rag ‘n Bone Man, for the number one spot over the last few weeks.
Will the electronic trio stay at number one with ‘Rockabye’? Or will they slip into the second position after ‘Human’ by Rag ‘n Bone Man?
This week’s number one will be released this Friday from 4 pm.
