Big Brother’s Musical Housemates
This year’s Big Brother launched last night on Channel five, and is looking to be one of the best series yet!
This year the housemates were split into two teams immediately and entered the house through two separate doors.
The door on the right was entered by new celebrity housemates, that had never spent time in the house before. The housemates who entered through the door on the left were past celebrity housemates, who have spent plenty of time in the house and the majority seem to be approaching the show with a game plan, using their experience as a guide.
There are a few musical housemates in the house, who have had impressive careers…here they are!
Coleen Nolan rose to fame back in the 80’s in a girl group with her sisters called ‘The Nolan Sisters’. People remember The Nolan Sisters for their single ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’ which landed them a top three spot in the charts back in 1980. Coleen is now best known now from ‘Loose Woman’ on ITV.
Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood, is a 35-year-old rapper from America, best known in the UK for his sex tape leak with Kim Kardashian. As well as have ping his own very successful career, his family is in the music business too. His sister Brandy, is an American singer-songwriter, actress, and producer. This talented star is best known for her song ‘The By is Mine’ in 1998. Ray J’s cousin is the one and only Snoop Dog who is a rapper and producer whose fame has taken him worldwide with songs such as ‘Sweat’ and ‘Drop it Like it’s Hot’.
Stacy Francis rose to fame when she joined ‘Ex-Girlfriend’, a girl group who released two studio albums in the 1990’s. Since then, Stacy has become an actress and TV presenter. She has performed on Broadway and was also a contestant on Xfactor US and impressed Simon Cowell with her audition. He said that it was one of the best auditions he had every seen.
As well as being famous for her obvious talent, she made headlines when she had an argument with Witney Huston two days before she died, over her lover and Francis’ Big Brother housemate Ray J.
Brandon Block, you don’t really hear his name now, however, in the 1990’s he was a big deal. This British DJ, made famous by his presenting job on Kiss FM in 1997, was responsible for one of the most memorable performances at the BRIT Awards, but not for the best reasons!
Brandon Block and Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) clashed at the BRIT awards in 2000. While Mr. Wood was presenting an award, Block ran on stage and said. “Get off the stage, you ****,” After this, he proceeded to through a glass of water all over the Stone’s star. The 90’s DJ was removed from the stage, but not before he called Ronnie Wood an “old b*****d”.
Although there are only three musical housemates in the Big Brother house, on last night’s launch show it was revealed that two more housemates will be joining the house very soon, so we might be treated to a couple more housemates from the music industry.
Big Brother is on every night from 9 pm on Channel 5.
