Born in 1911 in Turin, Walter Martiny began producing rubber-soled footwear under the name Superga. By 1925 his designs had evolved with the use of vulcanized rubber soles and the Superga 2750 Heritage style was born. The iconic 2750s are now available through the very best retailers worldwide. The brand announced Alexa Chung as brand ambassador for their centennial anniversary and for Spring / Summer 2012 along with a collaboration with Henry Holland for House of Holland per Superga, which hit stores in May 2012. This was followed by the Spring / Summer 2013 campaign featuring Rita Ora and collaborations with renowned designers Oliver Spencer and Giles Deacon the same season. Superga continues to focus on being a significant player in the UK footwear market.

Superga UK are pleased to announce that British actress and model Suki Waterhouse, is set to continue as brand ambassador for Autumn/ Winter 2014. Shot in London, this is the sophmore campaign featuring the model, turned designer.

The campaign launches with Suki’s exclusive 60’s inspired shoot, alongside 6 key styles for the season which begin to drop online and instores from mid-September. Metallic silver, autumnal green and bold burgundy sneakers feature in the classic 2750 and mid-top styles whilst the popular flatform shoe has been updated with soft navy blue suede.

Three exclusive flatform styles designed by Suki herself and inspired by her time spent in Paris will follow later in the season. This exclusive capsule collection created for Superga UK will be the model’s first designing experience for the brand with each of the styles encompassing her personality, femininity and playfulness.

“I am very excited about the launch of my new collection with Superga UK. I really enjoyed creating for the brand and adding a piece of myself into the designs. I hope that everyone loves them as much as I enjoyed making them.” Suki Waterhouse.

The collection features pastel shades available in a sugary blue and pink; with a bolder option available in red and navy. A cross between a flat plimsoll and a platform shoe, each of the designs are in the brand’s popular flatform style and feature hearts imprinted into the sides of the soles. Suki’s three exclusive styles will be available instore and online form 8th October 2014.

Superga UK has a history of collaborating with the most distinctive British style icons. Suki follows in the legendary footsteps of fashion favourites Alexa Chung and Rita Ora to star in the AW14 campaign.
